Mohammad Masoud Eskandari, a doctoral student in microbial biotechnology at Shahrekord University, was sentenced to 18 months of imprisonment, a monetary fine, and 2 years of suspended imprisonment on charges of insulting Islamic sanctities, insulting the leadership, insulting the founder of the Islamic Republic, and propaganda against the Islamic Republic.

It is noteworthy that this student was arrested following the news of the abduction of Professor Dariush Farhud, the father of genetics in Iran, on November 14, and was released on bail on November 19.
