Mohammad Hossein Aghasi, Fa’ezeh Hashemi’s lawyer, says my client will probably be eligible for the Supreme Leader’s pardon.
Fa’ezeh Hashemi’s lawyer spoke about the latest status of his client, stating that Ms. Fa’ezeh Hashemi’s case is in the process of merging convictions and issuing a new ruling. You know that when someone has multiple convictions, these convictions must be consolidated, and I have requested the court to consolidate these convictions.
Mohammad Hossein Aghasi added that currently, the case is in the 36th branch of the Court of Appeal, and we are waiting to see what ruling will be issued and what her punishment will be. Of course, one of the cases for which we are awaiting a ruling is likely to be included in the Supreme Leader’s pardon, which was a general pardon, not a specific one, because the charge of assembly and collusion against her was within the timeframe when the Leader granted a general pardon for it.
This lawyer, regarding the charges in the cases awaiting a ruling, said there were three to four cases in which Ms. Hashemi had multiple convictions, including propaganda against the regime and insulting the sanctities, for which she had a 37-month prison sentence, much of which she has already served. We are waiting to see what happens in the merging of the cases.
