Mohammad Javad Zarif: We Were Outmaneuvered by Russia in the Ukraine Affair

Mohammad Javad Zarif said regarding the Ukraine issue, we were outsmarted by Russia.

Mohammad Javad Zarif, the former Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, spoke in an interview about various issues of Iran’s foreign policy, including the Israel-Gaza war and Iran-Russia relations.

On Saturday, Mr. Zarif shared his viewpoints on recent developments in a Telegram group discussion and answered questions.

Mr. Zarif’s remarks were published by the Ham-Mihan newspaper, and the meeting was moderated by Mohammad Javad Rouh, the editor-in-chief of this newspaper.

According to Mr. Zarif, Israel will never agree to a referendum, so we should not make the conditions for a referendum difficult. If all the Jews currently in Palestine and all the Palestinians in the territories and refugees participate in the referendum, the result will be in favor of Palestine.

He also referred to Iran-Russia relations, stating that unfortunately, in Ukraine, we were outsmarted by Russia. They took the drones and also revealed themselves that there are very terrifying reasons in the nuclear balance calculations that were precise for them and dangerous for us.
