Mohammad Khatami: Overthrowing will not improve people’s lives

Mohammad Khatami, the head of the Reformist government, recently stated that overthrowing is a mistake and still considers the reform model as the best option for change.

He said, ‘The overthrower says this system must go. I believe that if such an event occurs, Iran will not have good days. If we want women, life, freedom, we must understand that overthrowing will not improve people’s lives.’

He also claimed that the founders did not mean for the Islamic Republic to be a clerical government.
