Mohammad Motahari says that since the thugs don’t chant subversive slogans while attacking people with machetes, nobody bothers them.
Mohammad Motahari, while sharing a video of a mugging on one of Tehran’s highways, wrote that in Iran, there is a special sensitivity towards foreign enemies and generally enemies of the regime. Therefore, in the speeches of officials, there is usually no mention of the internal enemies of the people’s lives, property, and honor, whether it be group assaults, acid attacks, or attacking people with machetes.
I don’t know the reason for the lack of decisive action against these shocking atrocities over the years by the officials who constantly talk about the people. But from a pessimistic perspective, these thugs, since they don’t chant subversive slogans while attacking people with machetes, don’t pose a challenge to the regime. Otherwise, the officials would, upon their arrest, display their faces, impose exemplary sentences, and publicize the punishments to uproot the source of sedition.
