Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf: People do not cry over the crocodile tears of the Saudi media

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, in today’s public meeting on Tuesday, September 20, during his pre-agenda speech regarding the Mahsa Amini incident, said

The passing of Ms. Mahsa Amini has left a deep wound in our hearts, and from the first hours of the representatives being informed of the incident, the supervisory bodies of the Assembly have prioritized the investigation of this incident with utmost sensitivity. I emphasize again that a thorough investigation and full disclosure of all aspects of her case is essential. The Internal Affairs Committee of the Islamic Consultative Assembly must, with maximum precision and thoroughness, report the results of their expert review to the representatives and the honorable people of Iran as quickly as possible.

Additionally, the aforementioned committee is tasked not only with examining the specifics of the late Mahsa Amini’s passing but also with reviewing the processes and execution methods of the moral security patrols of the General Command of the Police to prevent the recurrence of such incidents. Unfortunately, various cultural and social institutions are not properly fulfilling their affirmative duties regarding hijab. In such circumstances, addressing norm violations requires more precise planning with clear regulations and the use of trained personnel by the General Command of the Police to fully prevent personal biases and individual and systemic errors, and these actions should be acceptable to the dear and noble people of Iran.

It is important to remind that the enemy, as per its usual practice, seeks to ride the wave of any event and has placed creating unrest and chaos in the country on its agenda. Unfortunately, some inside, willingly or unwillingly, are moving in the direction of the enemy’s desires, but our dear people have demonstrated their political awareness and understand the difference between genuine concern and opportunism. They do not align with the hypocrites who once martyred several thousand ordinary people and now claim to advocate for one person’s passing, and they do not cry over the crocodile tears of the media affiliated with the child-killing Saudi regime.

From the first day, the honorable President, the government, the Assembly, and the judiciary have been diligently pursuing the causes of this incident and identifying those responsible. Time will show that the people’s trust was well-placed, and all the country’s institutions will not overlook even the smallest detail in pursuing this matter.

God willing, the Assembly will also address this event to clarify the matter and make the necessary structural and procedural reforms, and the people will not allow any form of exploitation by enemies and their accomplices.
