Waging war against God and corruption on earth: Charges against eight detained protesters in Izeh
Eight detained protesters from Izeh have been charged with waging war against God and corruption on earth in an indictment issued against them, charges that put these protesters at risk of receiving the death penalty. Another defendant in this case was recently sentenced to death. The Hrana website, the news organ of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, reported that the indictment for Bahman Bahmani, Mohsen Ahmadpour, Behrouz Salehshour, Rasoul Badaghi, Vahid Abbasi, Reza Arabpour, Sadegh Ghasemi, and Esmail Mousavi Nazari, eight detained citizens from Izeh during the nationwide protests, has been issued and their case has been referred to the fourth branch of the Revolutionary Court in Ahvaz.
According to this report, these eight individuals face charges of waging war against God and corruption on earth, which carries the risk of the death penalty. A knowledgeable source told this news site that some time ago, they were charged in a joint case with accusations such as waging war against God, corruption on earth, and membership in groups opposing the regime by one of the investigative branches of the Izeh Prosecutor’s Office. These individuals are currently held in Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz.
