Mohsen Borhani, Jurist: The Case of Rouhollah Ajamian is a Collection of Judicial Errors

Mohsen Borhani, a legal scholar and attorney, published a post titled ‘A Collection of Mistakes’ on his Instagram page, reopening the case of Rouhollah Ajamian’s death during protests on Thursday, November 3, last year. He urged the Ajamian family to return to jurisprudence and law and to control the urge for bloodshed.

Rouhollah Ajamian was killed on the fortieth day of Hadis Najafi’s death, one of the victims of the protest movement, on the Tehran-Karaj highway.

Mr. Borhani stated that emotional atmosphere and lack of independent lawyers have led to significant judicial errors. He wrote that according to the forensic medical report, the cause of death was two blows, one to the side and another to the chest of the deceased. However, it was never determined who delivered those fatal blows amidst the chaos. Therefore, we are faced with a premeditated murder where the killer is unknown, and according to Article 482, retribution is waived and a ruling for the payment of blood money is issued.
