Mohsen Hashemi: The government must adhere to the constitutional principles of protest and referendum.
Mohsen Hashemi Rafsanjani in an interview with Etemad newspaper
These days, the people’s condition is not good at all, and solutions must be found to improve their well-being. Firstly, if a mistake occurs in the country, there must be accountability and an apology. Defending a mistake with certainty after it happens is wrong.
In the country, because the legal space for protests is not available, political movements lack leadership. Therefore, during crises, it is not possible to engage in dialogue with these movements.
Articles 27 and 57 of the constitution recognize the principles of protest and referendum, and the government must adhere to these principles. Through this, dialogues can be formed, paving the way to overcome crises.
