Mojahed Korkor, a protester from Izeh, sentenced to death

Mojtaba Korkor, a protesting prisoner from Izeh, has been sentenced to death.

The Revolutionary Court of Izeh County in Khuzestan Province, Iran, has sentenced Abbas Mojtaba Korkor to death on charges of killing Kian Pirfalak, a child who was shot during the protests on November 25 last year.

Mizan News Agency, in releasing this news, has stated that the sentence is not final and can be appealed in the Supreme Court.

Abbas Mojtaba Korkor is one of the individuals who was arrested in early January in a village in Izeh County. Mojtaba Korkor’s family and his mother have reported pressure and torture on him to extract a confession.

Zeinab Molaei, the mother of Kian Pirfalak, who was with him in the car at the time of his death, stated at his funeral that officers fired at their vehicle and added that it was the same people who took Kian to the Red Crescent building.

She had previously posted a story on her Instagram with a photo alongside Mojtaba Korkor’s mother, expressing support for her and stating that her son’s murder was not his doing.
