More than 110 people have been arrested by the Iranian Law Enforcement Command
The Law Enforcement Command of the Islamic Republic of Iran, known as Faraja, has announced that 110 people have been arrested in connection with the chain poisoning incidents in girls’ schools.
Brigadier General Saeed Montazerolmahdi, the spokesperson for the Law Enforcement Command, stated that these individuals were identified and apprehended by Faraja’s intelligence organization, but he did not provide further details about the identities of those arrested.
The Faraja spokesperson said that some of the poisonings were real, while a significant portion were influenced by psychological factors based on fear and psychological contagion.
Mr. Montazerolmahdi mentioned that students’ thrill-seeking and the use of foul-smelling bombs and similar items were also among the main factors of this incident.
According to him, about 9,000 foul-smelling bombs were collected, and their sale was prevented. Several major importers, who had brought these materials in through neighboring countries, were arrested.
It has been over three months since the first cases of poisoning among female students. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei recently stated that the issue must be pursued and those responsible should not be pardoned.
