Mostafa Hashemitaba: Sanctions are an Excuse, the Ministry of Sports Cannot Claim its Rights

Mostafa Hashemitaba: Sanctions are just an excuse; the Ministry of Sports cannot claim its rights

Mostafa Hashemitaba, the former head of Iran’s Physical Education Organization, criticized the policies of the Ministry of Sports in an interview with the Etemad newspaper. He pointed out the lack of bows and guns for shooting athletes, saying this shows how deep the problems in our sports have become, as we are stuck with the basics.

Mr. Hashemitaba evaluated the sports sector in 2023 as unacceptable and said that the entire sports sector requires 20 to 30 million dollars, but just one item cost 3 billion dollars for Debsh tea. Saying we don’t have money and are under sanctions is somewhat unkind; it has nothing to do with sanctions but rather with the country’s policies and the fact that the Ministry of Sports cannot claim its rights.
