Mostafa Mirsalim’s supporters for importing second-hand cars are brokers.
Mirsalim, a member of parliament, said that the proponents of importing second-hand cars are brokers and mafias who spend one percent of their profit on defamation and scandal, but I will not back down and will not leave the scene.
Regarding the price issue, what is being discussed is incorrect, and a Land Cruiser and a Peugeot 206 do not have the same price. While the manufacturer delivers a Peugeot 206 for about 400 to 500 million tomans, a Land Cruiser is valued at nearly seven billion tomans.
A member of the Article 90 Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, in response to IRNA’s question about the price difference between Iranian-made cars and their foreign counterparts, said that the final cost of a Pride and a Peugeot 206 is no different from their foreign counterparts in South Korea and France.
Mirsalim reiterated his opposition to the import of foreign second-hand cars that have been used for more than five years, emphasizing that in foreign countries, cars are scrapped after five years or 100,000 kilometers of use, and maintaining them is costly and economically unjustifiable. Importing such cars will not be a source of pride.
