MP Whistleblower on SUVs Sentenced to Prison

The whistleblower representative of SUVs was sentenced to prison

A representative from Tabriz in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, who had revealed the distribution of SUVs to representatives, announced that he has been sentenced to one year in prison by the preliminary court.

Ahmadreza Alirezabeighi told the Shargh newspaper that his second court session was held on Sunday this week on charges of spreading falsehoods, but the next day, the verdict of his one-year prison sentence was issued by the preliminary court and uploaded to the electronic judicial system on Tuesday, July 18.

This parliamentary representative had previously reported that his first court session had been returned to the investigation phase by the court president due to file deficiencies and the complainant’s failure to register a complaint, but now with the issuance of a one-year prison sentence, if confirmed in the appeal court, he must immediately go to prison.

Mr. Alirezabeighi had revealed on April 26 that more than 70 SUVs had been handed over to representatives to withdraw the impeachment of the Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade.
