Muslim Communists and Hostility Towards Economic Growth

Muslim Communists and Hostility Towards Economic Growth: According to Iran Gate, economic growth has always been considered an indicator of an economy’s dynamism and is of interest to economists from various schools of thought. Economic growth can pave the way for reducing unemployment rates and increasing per capita income in different countries. However, Muslim communists believe that economic growth is detrimental to the people and it is better for an economy to stagnate in order to improve the living conditions of the people.

In the 21st century and the year 2023, there are still some economists and economic experts who believe that economic growth cannot help the economic situation of countries. This group, known as Islamic economists or Muslim communists, believes that any form of economic growth means deepening the income gap between different social classes. Therefore, they believe that economic growth is actually harmful to the people and the lower income segments of society.

The Fallacy of the Imam Sadeqis

A group of economists supporting the government and the economic managers of Ebrahim Raisi’s administration, known as the Imam Sadeqis, make strange statements. Among these bizarre opinions is their hostility towards economic growth. According to this group, when economic growth occurs, a significant amount of wealth is generated, and given that wealth distribution in the country is not fair, they claim that in this case, the rich become richer and the poor become poorer.

Interestingly, this group believes that if inflation can be controlled and economic growth remains at zero percent, the country’s living conditions will improve. This group of Imam Sadeqi economists or Muslim communists believes that Ebrahim Raisi’s administration does not need to take steps towards creating economic growth to improve the quality of life for the people.

The Sweet Communist Dream

At first glance, these statements may seem benevolent and well-intentioned, but it should be noted that such statements are nothing more than fallacies. To improve the economic and living conditions of the lower income classes and vulnerable groups, the groundwork must be laid for reducing unemployment rates and increasing per capita income. Otherwise, no sustainable and successful improvement in the living conditions of low-income citizens will occur.

The propositions mentioned will not materialize under any circumstances unless the government can facilitate economic growth in the country. If the economic pie does not grow, it cannot be expected that the share of low-income groups from this pie will increase. Therefore, it is said that the appealing slogans of the Imam Sadeqis are only beautiful and pleasant on paper and are nothing more than a fantasy.

The Drunkenness of Muslim Communists from the Smell of Oil

But do these experts truly believe in the statements they have made? The truth is that they are not only not convinced by these strange statements, but they are also well aware of the baselessness of their bizarre claims. However, the point is that the Imam Sadeqis present in Raisi’s administration, relying on oil revenues, are gleefully making unusual and unfounded statements. In simpler terms, they mean that the government should prevent economic prosperity in the country and instead engage in unproductive and unprofitable distribution of oil revenues.

These policies, rooted in communist thoughts and inclinations in the field of economics, will not solve any of the numerous and varied economic issues of the low-income classes. Instead, they represent a form of capital wastage at the expense of future generations. This approach, rooted in the academic and scientific poverty of Ebrahim Raisi’s administration in economic management, will result in nothing but a deeper gap than today between the rich and the poor in the coming years—a gap that Muslim communists claim to be concerned about deepening due to increased economic growth.

However, their solution for reducing the gap between the rich and the poor is the unregulated distribution of rent alongside recession and increased unemployment rates. In reality, this group intends to deceive public opinion and present themselves as benevolent to the people. But in fact, what lies behind these seemingly benevolent statements is opportunism coupled with ignorance, which only seeks to deceive the public who have been grappling with crippling sanctions for over two decades and can no longer bear the further shrinking of their meager livelihoods.
