Narges Mohammadi to the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights: Prevent the issuance and execution of protesters’ death sentences
Narges Mohammadi, a human rights activist imprisoned in Evin Prison, yesterday released a letter requesting Javaid Rehman, the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights, to use all the power and capacity of the United Nations to prevent the arrest, torture, and issuance and execution of heavy sentences against protesters, and to actively oppose executions to prevent the issuance and execution of this sentence against protesters.
In the text of this letter, which was published on Ms. Mohammadi’s Instagram page, it is stated: I ask you, considering the intensified repression and human rights violations, to pay more attention to creating and enabling the activities of human rights institutions and defenders in Iran. Let us strive for human rights to find its rightful place in governmental relations so that the path to freedom for the people becomes smoother.
