NASA Introduces Astronauts for Moon Orbit Mission

NASA introduces astronauts for the flight to the moon’s orbit

In December, the successful Artemis I flight towards the moon took place. Now, Artemis II is set to fly to the moon’s orbit with a crew consisting of three men and one woman. One of the three male astronauts is Black. This flight is likely to occur in late 2024 or early 2025.

Christina Koch, a 44-year-old electrical engineer, will be the first woman to travel around the moon. Her 328-day stay will break the record for the longest continuous space stay by a female astronaut.

Victor Glover, a 46-year-old U.S. Navy test pilot, will be the first Black person sent on a moon mission. He made his first space flight in 2020 and is the first Black person to have spent six months in space.

Reid Wiseman, 47 years old, has also been a Navy pilot and traveled on a mission to the International Space Station (ISS) in 2015.

Jeremy Hansen, a 47-year-old pilot from the Royal Canadian Air Force, has no experience participating in space missions.
