Nasser Kanaani: A Major Mistake of the Munich Security Conference Was Not Inviting Iran

Nasser Kanaani said the Munich Security Conference made a grave mistake by not inviting Iran.

Nasser Kanaani, the spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, described the non-invitation of the country’s and Russia’s officials to the Munich Security Conference as a grave mistake and sharply criticized it.

Mr. Kanaani also criticized the organizers of the Munich Conference for inviting Prince Reza Pahlavi and a group of opponents of the Islamic Republic of Iran to this year’s conference.

He said that Mr. Pahlavi’s presence at this conference was an affront to the Iranian nation.

During the Munich Security Conference, where officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran were not invited, several figures opposing the Iranian government, including Reza Pahlavi, called for an end to international support for the Iranian government.

No officials from Russia and North Korea were invited to this year’s Munich Conference either.
