Nasser Kanaani: Some results released from overseas ballot boxes are unauthentic and invalid.
Nasser Kanaani, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, deemed some results released from overseas ballot boxes as unauthentic and invalid, stating that the official source for publishing statistics is the central election headquarters of the Ministry of Interior.
Ahmad Vahidi, the Minister of Interior, also stated at the overseas election headquarters at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that statistics should only be released by the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as they are the legal channels.
He added that on some websites, statistics are given that do not match ours, and he urged everyone to refrain from publishing statistics.
However, the Minister of Interior of the Islamic Republic did not announce any official statistics on this matter.
Based on statistics that the Iranian Minister of Interior does not consider official, Masoud Pezeshkian, the reformist candidate, has significantly outpaced Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Saeed Jalili, the principlist candidates, in some voting areas in East Asia where the elections have concluded.
