The country’s water expert escaped water rationing
Mohammad Darvish, an expert in the field of water and environment, announced that the drought rate in Tehran is 31 percent, saying this figure is 10 percent better than the national average. Although Tehran receives 90 millimeters of rainfall and should receive 130 millimeters, meaning it has received 40 millimeters less than the average, there is hope that the issue will be resolved with the rainfall expected in the coming days.
He stated that the drought situation in Alborz province is 30 percent, and this rate is below 27 percent in Hamedan, Semnan, Kermanshah, Gilan, and Kurdistan, which can be easily compensated with the rainfall starting today. However, it cannot be predicted at all that we will move from a drought period to a wet period. Our situation will not even reach normal, but we have fortunately escaped the very dry conditions we had in the fall, where there were concerns that we might reach water rationing in most parts of the country. With a little management, we can also get through the next summer.
