According to Reuters, NATO is conducting its largest military exercise since the Cold War
The exercise is set to practice how to reinforce and equip America’s European allies located in countries bordering Russia in the event of a conflict with the enemy
Chris Cavoli, the senior commander of this alliance, has stated that 90,000 troops are expected to participate in this exercise, which will continue until May
According to NATO, more than 50 ships, ranging from aircraft carriers to destroyers, as well as over 80 fighter jets, helicopters, drones, and at least 1,100 combat vehicles, including 133 tanks and 533 infantry fighting vehicles, will take part in this major exercise
The forces participating in this exercise, which includes simulations of personnel deployment to Europe and ground operations, will come from NATO member countries and Sweden, which hopes to join the alliance soon
Cavoli has stated that NATO’s regional plans and details on how to respond to a Russian attack will be reviewed and practiced in this exercise
