NATO holds Russia responsible for provocative actions in the region
On Tuesday, NATO condemned Russia for violating Estonian airspace last week, stating that it will use all necessary military and non-military tools to defend itself, as it faces an increasing pattern of irresponsible behavior from Moscow.
In a statement on Tuesday, NATO members declared that Russia bears full responsibility for escalating actions such as airspace violations, and repeated occurrences of such actions could endanger human lives.
On Friday, Estonia announced that three Russian MiG-31 fighter jets violated its airspace for 12 minutes and were then escorted out of the country’s skies by Italian NATO fighters.
