Negotiation for establishing direct flights between Iran and Saudi Arabia

The head of the Association of Air Travel and Tourism Service Offices of Iran told ISNA news agency that Saudi citizens can travel to Iran after a 7-year ban.

Hormatollah Rafiei said that following the severance of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia, one of the demands of the private sector during all these years has been the re-establishment of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia and the expansion of travel between the two countries.

Mr. Rafiei stated that following the issuance of a joint statement by the two countries regarding the resumption of relations, negotiations have been conducted to establish a direct air route, and initial agreements have been made in this regard.

According to him, establishing direct flights on the Dammam-Mashhad and Tehran routes has been part of these negotiations.
