Negotiation Team Advisor: Removing IRGC from Terrorist List Has Never Been a Condition for Agreement

The negotiation team’s advisor says removing the IRGC’s name from the terrorist list has never been a condition for agreement.

Mohammad Marandi, in response to CNN’s claim that Iran has demanded the removal of the IRGC’s name from the U.S. terrorist list during the Vienna negotiations, said that over the past few months, I have repeatedly stated that removing the name of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps from the U.S. terrorist list has never been a precondition or a key demand.

Iran can very easily keep CENTCOM, the U.S. forces in the Middle East, on its own terrorist list, but if the U.S. needs to say this to give legitimacy to the agreement, it’s their business.
