Negotiation Team Advisor: Removing IRGC from Terrorist List Was Never a Condition for Agreement

The negotiation team’s advisor: Removing the IRGC’s name from the terrorist list has never been a condition for the agreement.

Mohammad Marandi, in response to CNN’s claim that Iran demanded the removal of the IRGC’s name from the US terrorist list during the Vienna negotiations, said, ‘I have repeatedly stated in recent months that removing the IRGC’s name from the US terrorist list has never been a precondition or a key demand.’

Iran also easily keeps the name of CENTCOM, the US forces in the Middle East, on its own terrorist list, but if the US needs to mention this to give the agreement legitimacy, that’s their business.
