Netanyahu: As long as I am Prime Minister, Iran will not obtain nuclear weapons
Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, in his first reaction to reports about a potential understanding between Iran and the United States, emphasized that the Islamic Republic will not acquire nuclear weapons.
Netanyahu wrote in a message on the social network X in Hebrew that as long as I am the Prime Minister of Israel, Iran will not obtain nuclear weapons.
He also claimed that there is complete agreement on this matter between him and Donald Trump, the President of the United States.
The Israeli Prime Minister, referring to his history of opposing Iran’s nuclear program, claimed that he has been at the forefront of the international fight against this program for three decades.
Netanyahu added that if it weren’t for this fight, Iran would have obtained a nuclear bomb long ago. Iran seeks the destruction of the Jewish state, and I have dedicated my life to preventing this goal from being realized.
These statements are being made while Donald Trump spoke hours earlier about finalizing an agreement with Iran and announced that planned U.S. attacks against Iran have been canceled.
However, Iranian officials emphasize that the text of the potential understanding is still under review by the decision-making bodies of the Islamic Republic, and they consider the reports about the time and place of its signing as media speculation.
