Netanyahu at the UN: I didn’t intend to come here

Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, sharply criticized Iran at the United Nations General Assembly on Friday. Meanwhile, Israeli officials announced they are preparing for a possible ground invasion of Lebanon, and Netanyahu has distanced himself from a U.S.-backed proposal for a 21-day ceasefire.

As Benjamin Netanyahu approached the podium on Friday, many delegations left the assembly hall, while some members of the audience in the spectator section attempted to cheer him on.

At the beginning of his speech, he said, ‘This year, I didn’t intend to come here. My country is at war and fighting for its survival. However, after hearing many lies and accusations from speakers at this podium against my country, I decided to come here and set the record straight.’
