Netanyahu: I Will Not Succumb to Pressure

Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, announced on Monday, September 3, during a press conference, that six Israeli hostages were executed by being shot in the back of the head. Previously, the Israeli Ministry of Health had stated, without providing details about the shooting location, that the shots were fired from close range.

In this press conference, Netanyahu called on the international community to apply more pressure on the Hamas group to expedite reaching a ceasefire agreement and the release of hostages. He said, ‘They have killed these individuals, and maximum pressure must be applied against them.’

In response to calls for concessions to be made to Hamas in order to reach an agreement, Netanyahu said that it is Hamas that should make concessions. He also insisted on maintaining control of the Philadelphi Corridor between the Gaza Strip and Egypt, saying, ‘I will not succumb to pressure.’

This press conference was held while a group of citizens gathered in Tel Aviv on Saturday and Sunday night, demanding that an agreement be reached as soon as possible.
