Netanyahu: Israel will take control of 70% of Gaza
Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, announced that he has instructed the army to expand its presence and control over the Gaza Strip.
In a speech in one of the Israeli settlements in the West Bank, he said that the Israeli army will take control of 70% of Gaza.
Netanyahu added that at the time of the ceasefire last October, Israel had control over 53% of Gaza.
Videos released from the event show attendees chanting ‘100 percent,’ to which Netanyahu responds, ‘First 70 percent, let’s start from here.’
These statements come while the Gaza ceasefire, mediated by the United States, remains fragile, and Israel accuses Hamas of violating the agreement and refusing to disarm.
