Netanyahu met with Lloyd Austin at the airport

Thousands of Israelis on Thursday, March 9, responded positively to the call of the opposition headquarters by blocking streets in cities and main highways and attempting to prevent Benjamin Netanyahu’s foreign travel, to protest the government’s continued insistence on advancing plans for changes in the judiciary.

According to Israeli media, Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife reached the airport by helicopter to avoid the traffic created on the main highway between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, where Ben Gurion International Airport is located.

The situation in Israel also disrupted the travel plans of Lloyd Austin, the U.S. Secretary of Defense.

Benjamin Netanyahu had to meet Mr. Austin, who was on a regional trip, in a workshop building located at Ben Gurion Airport. The topic of these discussions was described as talks regarding Iran and the strategic cooperation between the two countries.
