Network security expert: Connecting to Telegram with alternative shells is dangerous
A network security expert stated that due to the lack of filtering of these applications, many problems arise for people’s information because a series of proxies are considered within these software, they do not have filtering issues, but they can transfer a lot of user information to their own servers.
The Secretary of the Supreme Council of Cyberspace claimed that access to well-known social networks will be possible with a governance-structured approach. This raises concerns, concerns reminiscent of the experience of using unofficial versions, which pose many dangers for users.
Mehdi Moslehi, a network security expert, said about the implementation of governance-structured platforms in social networks: If we are talking about unofficial versions of some popular platforms, they are not recommended at all. For instance, Golden Telegram and Mobogram were of this category. Due to the lack of filtering of these applications, many problems arise for people’s information because a series of proxies are considered within these software, they do not have filtering issues, but they can transfer a lot of user information to their own servers. This method is never recommended because the creator has not suggested it.
If the government can ensure that the server content distribution platforms are located within the country, the information being transferred for that platform internally will be done quickly, and thus a clear oversight and contract will be established between regulatory bodies, the Ministry of Communications, and these companies. Using unofficial versions is undoubtedly dangerous.
