New Proposals from the US State Department to Limit the Purchase of Iranian Diplomats at the UN General Assembly

New proposals from the U.S. State Department suggest that the purchases by Iranian diplomats at the United Nations General Assembly should be limited.

The Donald Trump administration is considering new restrictions for foreign delegations at the United Nations General Assembly meeting, which begins on September 21.

According to an internal memo from the U.S. State Department, these restrictions could apply to delegations from Iran, Sudan, Zimbabwe, and even Brazil. One of the proposals is to prohibit diplomats from the Islamic Republic from shopping at wholesale stores like Costco and Sam’s Club without official permission from the State Department.
