New Tactic of the Islamic Republic: Forced Confession After Temporary Release

The new tactic of the Islamic Republic: forced confessions after temporary release

State media have released a video of Dena Sheibani, a snowboarding coach, showing her in regular clothes without a hijab, repeating confessions that were published during her detention. Sheibani was temporarily released about two weeks ago on a bail of 4 billion tomans.

Sheibani is making these confessions and repeating the bomb plot scenario, apparently during her time of freedom, while in one notable part of the video she says, ‘If you are still out there and protesting,’ a sentence many believe indicates the pressure and threats from security agencies on her to repeat her confessions even after temporary release.

Tasnim News Agency, affiliated with the Revolutionary Guards, recently published the forced confessions of Dena Sheibani, Mohammad Khiyveh, Eshraq Najaf Abadi, Amir Arslan Mahdavi, and Hesam Mousavi, accusing them of planning bomb operations.
