No thief is afraid of prison punishment.

The Hamshahri newspaper, the publication organ of Tehran’s municipality, wrote in a report about theft and thieves.

Legal loopholes have reassured criminals; the number of prisoners is high, and according to the law, except for serious crimes like murder and armed robbery, other criminals can be released on bail. For this reason, a thief is confident that he will be released a few days after being arrested.

For these individuals, prison has become a job and a pastime because their food and sleeping place are free, and they don’t remain idle in prison.
