North Korea confirms the launch of a solid-fuel ballistic missile
One day after North Korea launched a rare missile towards the area near northern Japan, North Korea’s state news agency unveiled a key weapon of the country’s strategic military force.
North Korea confirmed that on Thursday, April 13, it launched a new type of solid-fuel intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM). The country’s leader, Kim Jong Un, welcomed what he called a major step in the weapons program.
On Friday, April 14, North Korean state media released images showing Kim Jong Un smiling with joy alongside his daughter, watching a black and white missile covered in a cloud of smoke.
