North Korea sent 260 balloons filled with trash to South Korea

In a retaliatory move, North Korea has dropped at least 260 balloons carrying trash over areas of South Korea.

South Korean officials have advised citizens to stay indoors, and the military has warned people not to touch the white balloons and the plastic bags attached to them due to the presence of dirty waste and trash.

These balloons have been found in eight out of the nine provinces of South Korea and are currently under investigation.

Both North and South Korea have been using balloons for propaganda activities since the Korean War in the 1950s.

The South Korean military had previously stated that they are investigating whether North Korean propaganda leaflets are present in the balloons.
