Norwegian Company Sells $400 Million Air Defense System to Kuwait

Norwegian company sells a $400 million air defense system to Kuwait

Norwegian defense company Kongsberg Gruppen announced that, as part of the U.S. arms sales program and in collaboration with Raytheon, it will deliver an advanced air defense system to Kuwait.

The value of this contract has been announced to be around $400 million. According to Kongsberg, this mobile surface-to-air system is designed to enhance Kuwait’s defensive capabilities and protect the country’s people and infrastructure against aerial threats.

During the recent war between the U.S. and Israel against Iran, Kuwait was targeted by missile and drone attacks from the Islamic Republic. The Revolutionary Guard had announced that these attacks were conducted in response to U.S. actions and continued sporadically even after a ceasefire was established.
