The order banning citizens from 12 countries, including Iran, from entering the United States has begun.
The order by Donald Trump, the President of the United States, to ban citizens from 12 countries, including Iran, from entering the United States went into effect at 12:01 AM Eastern Time on Monday, which is 7:31 AM Tehran time.
Based on this travel ban, citizens from Iran, as well as Yemen, Afghanistan, Libya, Sudan, Somalia, Myanmar, Chad, the Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, and Haiti, are prevented from entering the USA.
Entry of citizens from seven countries, Cuba, Venezuela, Turkmenistan, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, and Burundi, is also subject to restrictions.
Donald Trump explained the implementation of this ban by referring to a recent attack by an Egyptian citizen on a Jewish gathering in the city of Boulder, Colorado.
On Thursday, in response to the question of why countries other than Egypt are included in this ban, he said Egypt is a country with which we have close interaction; they have things under control. Those countries listed in the ban do not have things under control.
