Directive from the Attorney General’s Office to Address Unveiling

The Deputy Attorney General in charge of overseeing prosecutors and law enforcement across the country announced in a note that a directive has been issued by the Attorney General’s Office to the police for decisive action against the crime of unveiling.

Abdol Samad Khoramabadi, the Deputy Attorney General in charge of overseeing prosecutors and law enforcement across the country, examined the duties of judiciary officers and the judiciary in addressing the crime of unveiling in a note. He wrote that the crime of unveiling is one of the evident crimes, and law enforcement officers are obligated, in accordance with the note to Article 638 of the Islamic Penal Code of 1996 and the latter part of Article 44 of the Criminal Procedure Code, to arrest the perpetrators of evident crimes and refer them to competent judicial authorities for punishment.
