Pakistan asked all Indian nationals to leave the country within 48 hours.
On Friday, April 24, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement requesting all Indian nationals to leave Pakistan as soon as possible.
The statement mentioned that all visas issued to Indian nationals are now nullified, and they must leave our country within 48 hours. We will not allow any violation of our sovereignty or national security. Our airspace will be closed to all Indian aircraft.
Tensions between Delhi and Islamabad escalated after a deadly attack on Indian tourists, which resulted in the death of 26 civilians. India has accused Pakistan of supporting the attackers.
Indian police say they have identified three suspects, including two Pakistanis.
Following this attack, India suspended the Indus Water Treaty and closed the land border with Pakistan.
Islamabad, in response, expelled Indian diplomats and warned that cutting off water flow would be considered an act of war.
At the same time, India has begun air and naval exercises, and the United Nations has called on both countries to refrain from escalating the conflict.
Both India and Pakistan are nuclear powers.
