On the verge of the ceasefire deadline between Iran and the United States, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister emphasized the necessity of continuing the cessation of hostilities and creating a space for dialogue in a meeting with the U.S. chargé d’affaires.
Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the Foreign Minister of Pakistan, in a meeting with Natalie Baker, the U.S. chargé d’affaires in Islamabad, called for an extension of the ceasefire between Iran and the United States.
This ceasefire, which was established through Pakistan’s mediation, is set to expire in the coming hours, and its status remains uncertain.
In this meeting, Ishaq Dar emphasized that the parties should give a chance to dialogue and diplomacy and use political avenues to manage tensions.
In response, Natalie Baker appreciated Islamabad’s role and welcomed Pakistan’s constructive and positive role in promoting regional peace and facilitating dialogues.
In recent weeks, Pakistan has been one of the active mediators in the process of indirect contacts between Tehran and Washington, striving to maintain communication channels between the two sides.
