Parliament's insistence on approving the Protection Plan for Cyberspace

The insistence of the Parliament on passing the Protection Plan for Cyberspace

185 members of Parliament signed a letter requesting the review of the Protection Plan for Cyberspace in the public session instead of the joint commission

The Minister of Communications, dismissing the possibility of a cyberattack, attributed the internet outage on Wednesday morning to traffic congestion

The last time the Protection Plan for Cyberspace was at the forefront of the news was mid-September, a few days before Mahsa Amini’s death in the custody of the morality police and the beginning of nationwide protests

Three articles of this plan were approved in a session attended by the head of the thirteenth government, Ebrahim Raisi, who also chairs the Supreme Council of Cyberspace, and were issued for implementation. This plan was discussed in the final months of the previous year and was submitted by the Parliament in July, but its review was halted after numerous disputes in the Islamic Consultative Assembly
