Parviz Parastouei criticizes Raisi’s contradictory behavior regarding hijab
Parviz Parastouei, a prominent cinema and television actor, criticized the contradiction between a photo of Ebrahim Raisi casually interacting with several unveiled women in Damascus and the actions and behaviors occurring in Iran.
On his Instagram, he referred to the spilled blood, grieving families, and many protesters imprisoned after Mahsa Amini’s death, addressing Ebrahim Raisi by writing that at least during your travels, don’t take these photos and don’t make these statements. Travel quietly and don’t reopen the wounds of the people.
This well-known Iranian cinema actor also posed the question of whether smiling and directly looking at an unveiled woman is not considered a sin and then answered himself, saying, ‘Well, it certainly isn’t a sin, otherwise you wouldn’t have raised your hand and would have lowered your head like many devout and religious people.’
Parastouei also wrote questioning why the Syrian government does not require Syrian girls and women to wear a mandatory hijab, and why the Syrian president does not punish women in his country for not wearing a mandatory hijab.
