Persepolis Club's Reaction to Taj's Remarks: We Resolved the Debt Issue and Won't Be Disqualified

Persepolis Club’s Reaction to Taj’s Comments: We Solved the Debt Issue and Will Not Be Eliminated

Persepolis denied the news about a $200,000 debt to a player, which critics claim has put the club on the brink of elimination from Asian competitions, and issued a statement declaring that the case is closed.

Mehdi Taj, the president of the Iranian Football Federation, said yesterday that Esteghlal has definitely been eliminated from this season’s AFC Champions League, and Persepolis might also be excluded due to a $200,000 debt to a player.

However, Persepolis claimed in a statement that this news is related to the case of Božidar Radošević, the former goalkeeper of the team, and that the club has reached an agreement with this Croatian player.

Persepolis, in a statement, announced that Mr. Taj’s comments were about Radošević’s claims and that there is no new case. The club reached an agreement with Radošević, where there was a significant financial obligation, and the official documents of the agreement and payment on the due date have been uploaded to the Kels system. This action will also be taken for future payments.
