Pezeshkian: The dispute over the Strait of Hormuz can be resolved through dialogue
Masoud Pezeshkian, in an interview with Al Jazeera, stated that Iran has not initiated restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz and claimed that U.S. restrictions on the passage of Iranian ships have led to Tehran’s reaction. He said the dispute over this waterway can be resolved through dialogue, not with pressure and threats.
Pezeshkian added that Iran is ready to cooperate with regional countries to ensure the security of the strait and that there is no need for the presence of extra-regional powers. He also considered a meeting with Donald Trump unlikely and said that as long as the U.S. does not fulfill its commitments, there is no reason for such a meeting.
