Pezeshkian in contact with the President of Egypt: Iran is not seeking war with the United States
Following the escalation of tensions between Washington and Tehran, Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, and Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the President of Egypt, held a telephone conversation on Saturday, February 11.
According to the report from the Islamic Republic’s government information site, Pezeshkian emphasized in this call that Iran is not seeking war with the United States and that resolving issues through diplomacy has always taken precedence over war. He added that war is not in the interest of Iran, the United States, or the region.
According to this report, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi also emphasized Egypt’s support for diplomatic solutions, stating that there is no military solution for resolving regional issues.
In recent weeks, countries such as Qatar, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Egypt have initiated efforts to reduce tensions between Iran and the United States.
The President of Egypt is considered an ally of the United States, and Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has previously invited him to join the peace committee.
