Pezeshkian in a meeting with the Armenian Foreign Minister: Negotiating with a party that simultaneously threatens and attacks has no meaning
Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, in a meeting with Ararat Mirzoyan, said that Tehran’s problem with Washington is that every time Iran enters the path of dialogue, according to him, war or military pressure is subsequently applied against the country. Pezeshkian stated that negotiating with a party that, in his words, simultaneously uses assassination, sanctions, pressure, and threats and does not adhere to agreements is unacceptable for Iran. He also claimed that the United States has attacked Iran three times after negotiations and considered this as evidence that Washington’s goal is not merely negotiation but pressure to change Iran’s political structure. This section is the assessment and position of the President of Iran. In another part of his speech, Pezeshkian said that Iran will try to neutralize external pressures by relying on relationships with neighbors and expanding regional cooperation, and added that Tehran-Yerevan relations will also be strengthened within this framework.
