Masoud Pezeshkian, the President, in a meeting with Axel Wilhelm Dittmann, the new German ambassador in Tehran, emphasized the history of relations between Iran and Germany and called for strengthening dialogue, resolving misunderstandings, and developing bilateral relations based on mutual respect.
He mentioned the closure of the Islamic Center of Hamburg, restrictions against Iranian consulates and banks, and the positions of some German officials supporting U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran as factors contributing to the coolness of relations between the two countries.
The President stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always emphasized dialogue, diplomacy, and resolving differences through political channels and within the framework of international law. Tehran’s principled policy has been based on eliminating misunderstandings, strengthening dialogue, and developing balanced and constructive relations.
The new German ambassador also highlighted the history of relations between the two countries and stressed the necessity of strengthening dialogue, building trust, and striving to find practical solutions to remove obstacles and expand bilateral cooperation.
