Pezeshkian Issued an Immediate Order to Combat Illegal Cryptocurrency Mining

Pezeshkian issued an urgent order to combat illegal cryptocurrency mining

Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on Tuesday issued an immediate directive to follow up on the matter in response to the Minister of Energy’s report on the latest status of electricity production and distribution and his remarks about the SMS threats regarding the crackdown on cryptocurrency miners.

Pezeshkian stated that cutting off electricity to production sectors and industries is the last resort, and we will make every effort to ensure that the power supply to industries is not interrupted.

Masoud Pezeshkian also emphasized the importance of raising awareness and coordinating all officials and authorities in provinces and cities to combat unauthorized electricity consumption, particularly activities related to cryptocurrency mining, and stressed the necessity of engaging public participation in this regard.
