Pezeshkian: The situation will get worse in the future

Masoud Pezeshkian, the representative of Tabriz, has said that for over 40 years we have been following a path regarding hijab, and if we continue on this path in the same manner, the result will be what we are currently witnessing, and the outcome will even be worse in the future.

Now, if there is to be any action, we must reform our beliefs and behaviors through education, not through orders or laws. No one can tell someone to pray or fast through legislation because these matters are internal beliefs. Hijab is also a belief and conviction; if we want to impose hijab by force in the country, in my opinion, we will not achieve anything.

This prevailing forceful approach regarding hijab could bring dangers to the country. After all, some people do not have issues with Islam and religion, and perhaps our behavior might cause them to develop problems with Islam and religion, which is certainly not right.
